The Red Piano
In 2005, Yamaha created a special edition piano to celebrate Elton John's concert residency at the Colosseum, located at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. This baby grand piano has a glossy red finish and was specifically crafted for this
individual concert series to play 75 shows between 2004 and 2009. But the overwhelming success of the residency formed around this epochal instrument, called "The Red Piano," was extended to 243 shows. In June of 2021, the red piano was auctioned for $150,000 - over $50,000 more than expected.

Sir Elton John
"Music has healing power. It has the ability to take people out of themselves for a few hours."
One of the most successful and iconic musicians of all time, Sir Elton John is the embodiment of glamorous flamboyance and legendary talent.
Elton showed proficiency at the piano from the early age of three years old, and he has not ceased to amaze and delight his audiences ever since. At the age of eleven, Elton was a scholarship recipient at the Royal Academy of Music. In 1970, he would release his first hit single, which would just be the beginning of his paramountcy in the music industry.
Elton would go on to release 70 top 40 songs, sell over 300 million records, and release the biggest selling single of all time, Candle in the Wind. Not only would Elton have great influence in music, but he also composed many songs for musical theatre, maintained a strong connection with the sporting world, and become involved with a variety of important charities.
His plethora of hit songs have garnered him many accolades, including 5 Grammy Awards, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the noble status of knighthood - celebrating his contributions to the pop culture landscape and his philanthropic efforts towards the AIDS epidemic.
